Ronaldo's brace of free-kicks put him level with Athletic Bilbao striker Telmo Zarra in 1950-51 and Madrid's own Hugo Sanchez in 1989-90, but the Portuguese claimed he never expected to score that many goals.

Madrid play host to Almeria on Sunday in their final game of the season, as the former Manchester United winger looks to add another record to his collection.
